The Peabody Hotel Duck Tradition - As the story goes, in the 1930's Frank Schutt, then General Manager of the hotel, and his friend Chip Barwick, returned from a hunting trip in Arkansas.  Wanting to continue the fun, they got the idea to put their live duck decoys in the hotel fountain.  Three ducks were placed in the water and the hotel guests reaction was so wonderful that it became a tradition maintained for over 90 years.  Everyday you can see the ducks parade in the Peabody fountain from 11am to 5pm.
